Shakira has hit out at Gerard Pique’s ex-girlfriend Clara Chia in a new candid interview and revealed how she is ‘strong’ from their split.
The 47-year-old admits she ‘bought into the myth that a woman needs a man to be complete’ but now realizes she can ‘own herself’.
Former Barcelona player Gerard, 36, split from Shakira in June 2022 after 11 years together and went on Instagram with 23-year-old Clara last month.
It is suspected that Shakira realized that her ex was unfaithful when she found out that a jar of strawberry jam had been eaten while she was away.
Addressing their split, she told journalist Enrique Acevedo on Mexico’s Canal Estrellas: ‘There’s a place in hell reserved for women who don’t support other women.’

Shakira went on to explain that she now has ‘confidence’ in herself and is a ‘lion’ to her two children Sasha, seven, and Milan, ten.
She elaborated: ‘I bought this story, that a woman needs a man to complete herself. I also dreamed of a family where the children have a mother and a father under the same roof.
‘You don’t achieve all your goals in life but life has a way of paying compensation and I think life has been with me with my two beautiful children who fill me with love every day.
“I have always relied on men, I fell in love, and I think I can understand this story from a different perspective and today I have reached it myself.”
The singer added, “When a woman faces the battles of life, she comes out strong.”
Now I feel complete because I rely on myself and I have two children who depend on me and that means I am stronger than a lion.
This strength comes from facing the pain, accepting it, enduring disappointment, understanding that life doesn’t always bring us what we want.
‘There are broken dreams and you have to pick up the pieces and put yourself back together, and be an example to my children.’

The couple protected their two children from a serious dispute by confirming that last November they had entered into a custody agreement after custody negotiations and signed the agreement in a Barcelona court the following month.

Gerard also admits that Shakira is the most famous person outside the world of football that he has met.

The decision to take their love on his social media platform comes after Shakira dissed Clara in her latest diss song which has since topped the Spotify Global Charts.
It is alleged that Shakira realized that her ex-boyfriend was unfaithful when she found out that a jar of strawberry jam had been eaten while she was away.
The hitmaker continued to reference strawberry jam in her music video for Te Felicito in April, which featured a photo of her partner Rauw Alejandro in an open fridge.
According to ShowNews Today, Shakira knew that Gerard and their two children Sasha and Milan did not like strawberry jam, so she suspected that someone had stayed at their house when she found the jar.
The poet appears to be alluding to this in Her music video Te Felicito, where she can be seen opening the fridge to greet Rauw.
This comes after she set up a giant doll on the balcony of her house in Spain which is reported to be watching her former mother-in-law.
