Prince William and Kate Middleton ‘wondered’ whether George could play a role in the coronation

The Prince and Princess of Wales are “discussing” whether Prince George could play a role in the coronation, sources say.

As reported by The Telegraph, Prince William, 40, and Kate, 41, are studying how their eldest son-in-waiting will play a prominent role in the event.

The couple are thought to be considering what is best for the nine-year-old, given the “inevitable attention he will receive at an event documented by the international media.”

Meanwhile his younger siblings Princess Charlotte, seven, and Prince Louis, four, are expected to attend the coronation as spectators.

It comes after a royal expert said Prince George would be a ‘focus’ for the upcoming coronation as part of the palace’s efforts to draw attention to the short-haul line.

In the 30-minute program, the experts discussed with host Jo Elvin about the coronation of King Charles in May and what role the royal family will play.

Although Dr Dunlop said working members of The Firm – as the royal family is called – were expected to appear in the procession, the expert said the focus would be on King Charles, Prince William and Prince George at Westminster Abbey. .

She explained that:[They] want to continue to focus on this line of heritage.

‘So we’re going to see a lot of camera footage of Charles, of William, of George.’

Dr Dunlop then commented on the Queen’s coronation in June 1953, where her successor was placed in the spotlight.

For the occasion, Charles – who was four years old at the time – sat between the Queen Mother and his aunt Princess Margaret to make him visible.

Describing how the coronation was ‘all about King Charles’, Richard Eden added: “We will see other members of the royal family taking on big roles.

We will see them in the procession to Westminster Abbey. They will not attend the ceremony, but what you will see is a program of events in the country that includes all members of the royal family.

‘So all the different parts of the UK should feel part of the coronation and of course, [we’ll] see them in the balcony of Buckingham Palace where they will be with all the royal family together.’

It is understood that King Charles wants his coronation to create a more efficient and modern style of government, while retaining some of the splendor that stunned the world during the Queen’s funeral and funeral celebrations.

The historic ceremony on May 6 will begin with Camilla’s coronation before Charles is officially crowned king when the Archbishop of Canterbury places St Edward’s Crown on him.

From there, there will be a procession to lead the newly sworn-in king past thousands of people to Buckingham Palace, where he will join his family on the balcony to welcome the crowd.

According to The Times, King Charles and the Queen Consort – who will relinquish the title after the coronation – will sit down with the Prince and Princess of Wales in the coming weeks to discuss George’s signature.

A Royal source told the newspaper that William and Kate are both keen for George to take on an official role, as long as he is not subjected to too much scrutiny.

The insider said: ‘He sends a positive signal and is very brave. It’s another example of the King and Queen Consort not being afraid to shake things up a bit to reflect the reality of modern life, in which the extended family is the main theme.’
