Pokemon Go players will finally be able to catch Gimmighoul’s Walking Form following a Pokemon launch announcement announcing its debut on the mobile app.

Pokemon fans have been waiting for a lot of new species in the games Gen 9 Scarlet & Violet since their release in November of 2022. When the games are about to launch, a teaser appeared in Pokemon Go which is show one of the new types of Paldean will have a special relationship to mobile applications – similar to Meltan. Now Gimmighoul is finally ready for the first launch for players to catch.

Gimmighoul is a special type of ghost that can be found in chests scattered throughout the Paldea region. When defeated, he drops Gimmighoul coins, which players must collect in order to transform him into Gholdengo.

In Scarlet & Violet, Gimmighoul is found in his chest, but in the teaser that shows Professor Willow and Jacq, it is confirmed that Pokemon Go will introduce a Walking Form for players to find and catch. While little is known about it debuting in the mobile game after the release of Scarlet & Violet, players now have new information thanks to February 2023 Pokemon Introduction direct stream.

Pokemon Go players can find the Gimmighoul Walk Form

According to the Presents Livestream broadcast on Pokemon YouTube Channels, players must link their Pokemon Go account to Pokemon Scarlet & Violet to have Gimmighoul appear. This is similar to how players have received Meltan through integration with Mu Go.

Players will send postcards to Pokémon Scarlet & Violet from the gifts they receive in the game. This will, in turn, allow players to catch Roaming Form Gimmighoul in their Pokemon Go game.

How to get Gimmighoul in Pokemon Go

Below is a step-by-step guide on how to get Gimmighoul to appear in Pokemon Go. Requires a copy of Pokemon Scarlet & Violet and a game card from a Pokemon Go companion.

1. Introducing Pokemon Scarlet & Violet
2. Open the ‘X’ menu and select ‘Pokemon Portal’
3. Choose ‘Mystery Gift’
4. Select ‘Connect to Pokemon GO’
5. Select ‘Connect with Pokemon Go account’ if you haven’t already (you can do this once per day)
   • Launch Pokemon Go
   • Navigate to the settings
   • Scroll down to ‘Nintendo Switch’
   • Select ‘Connect to Nintendo Switch’
   • Select ‘Yes’ on your Nintendo Switch screen once they are connected
6. Select ‘Connect to Pokemon GO’ in Scarlet/Violet
7. Tap your profile in Pokemon Go
8. Navigate to ‘Postcard Book’
9. Select any postcard (this only works if you have postcards you received from a friend)
10. Tap the icon with three sticks and select ‘Send to Nintendo Switch’
11. Tap ‘Send,’ then ‘Yes,’ then ‘OK’
12. You will automatically receive a Wallet which can be found in your Items
13. Tap on Wallet and select ‘Open’
14. This will ignite a special incense for 30 minutes that will spawn Gimmighoul’s Walking Form
15. Tap them when they appear on the screen and use Berries and Pokeballs to catch them

How to get Gholdengo in Pokemon Go

When players catch Gimmighoul in Pokemon Go, they will also get a certain amount of Gimmighoul Coins. Like in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet, if players collect 999 Gimmighoul coinsthey can transform their Gimmighoul into a Gholdengo.

While some may not be surprised by the arrival of Gimmighoul in Pokemon Go, thanks to recent data mining predicting its presence, the chance to catch it will still be exciting for fans of Scarlet & Violet.
